There are two main types of brake discs, one is a physical brake disc, which is actually a five hole brake disc, and the other is a ventilation disc, which is a perforated brake disc. So, what are the differences between these two types of brake discs with holes and without holes?
1. Perforated brake discs. This type of ventilated brake disc is relatively complex in manufacturing due to the presence of holes, and the holes will inevitably reduce the rigidity of the entire disc to a certain extent. Therefore, the requirements for material use will be more stringent, resulting in higher prices and replacement costs. However, in use, ventilated discs can improve the cooling performance of brake discs, reduce their thermal attenuation, and provide better braking capabilities.
2. Unperforated brake discs. This type of solid brake disc usually has a simple structure, which is a solid brake disc in a whole form. Therefore, it is relatively simple to manufacture, and the cost is also relatively low. It is relatively cheap to purchase, and the solid disc is more sturdy in structure, has better rigidity, and is not easily damaged.
