There are various determining factors for the braking of a vehicle, which are influenced by the front and rear weight of the vehicle body, suspension characteristics, tire performance, and road friction. But for the vehicle braking system, the importance of brake drums and calipers is beyond doubt.
Generally speaking, the brake drum needs to be replaced between 80000 and 100000 kilometers, or if the thickness is less than a certain value. However, it also depends on the specific usage situation. For those who frequently use the brake on congested roads for a long time or frequently brake urgently, it should be replaced appropriately early. It can also be determined by having them check the actual wear and tear of the brake pads during maintenance.
When pressing the brake pedal, the force exerted by the foot will cause the piston in the brake master cylinder to push the brake oil forward and generate pressure in the oil circuit. Pressure is transmitted to the brake cylinder piston of each wheel through brake oil, which then pushes the brake pads outward, causing friction between the brake pads and the inner surface of the brake drum, and generating enough friction to reduce the wheel speed to achieve the purpose of braking.
Due to the influence of road conditions, people adopt different braking methods, which naturally affects the use of brake drums. For example:
On rainy days, the braking interval will be extended. I believe many car enthusiasts have had the experience of driving on rainy days. Even though most cars nowadays are equipped with ABS skills, no one can change the fact that the braking interval has become longer! So, the argument for impact is to control the speed and prevent sudden braking. Also, apply the brakes early and lightly to avoid slipping of the vehicle.
Braking on dirt roads or floating sand roads can also be dangerous, not only on rural roads, but also on urban asphalt roads. Due to urban construction and other factors, there may be a lot of floating soil and sand particles on both sides of the road. Therefore, it is necessary to be more cautious when using emergency braking operations.
