Brake pads are components that are in close contact with brake discs, which convert the kinetic energy of a car into thermal energy through friction, thereby achieving deceleration or stopping. Brake pads are generally composed of a metal substrate and friction materials, and the type and quality of friction materials determine the performance and lifespan of brake pads.
The brake discs should be matched with the brake pads, usually installed on the wheel hub and rotated with the tires. Brake discs are generally made of cast iron or carbon ceramic, with ventilation slots or drilled holes on the surface to improve heat dissipation and prevent water film formation. The shape and size of the brake disc determine the braking torque and stability.
